Sure Foundation

There is a story/tale of three little pigs who built their own houses. The 1st pig built his house with straw. The 2nd pig built his house with sticks. The 3rd log built his house with brick. Then there was the bully, the big bad wolf came to the 1st pigs house and blew it down. He did the same with the 2nd pigs house that was built with the sticks. The wolf did not win the battle with the 3rd pigs house because he built it with brick that withstood the wolf.

In life we tend to do or build what is easy, quick, simple, without considering the tools, or materials being used, not considering if it will withstand, the storms of life, such as sickness, disease, fear, doubt, trials, tribulations, fiery darts from the enemy, thoughts of suicide, condemnation, temptation, sin, failure, loss of job or income, and the list goes on.

Matthew 7:24-27 Jesus makes things clear to us.
Build Your House on the Rock

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

You might ask what is this rock? The Rock in which Jesus is talking about is “The Word”, the truth, the revelation and wisdom you receive from the word. Let it be your foundation for ever decision you make and everything you do.

Wisdom is key:
James 1:5-6New Living Translation (NLT)

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.

Proverbs 4:7New King James Version (NKJV)

Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.

Proverbs 1New King James Version (NKJV)

The Beginning of Knowledge

1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:

To know wisdom and instruction,
To perceive the words of understanding,
To receive the instruction of wisdom,
Justice, judgment, and equity;
To give prudence to the simple,
To the young man knowledge and discretion—
A wise man will hear and increase learning,
And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,
To understand a proverb and an enigma,
The words of the wise and their riddles.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 2New King James Version (NKJV)

The Value of Wisdom

2 My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
He guards the paths of justice,
And preserves the way of His saints.
Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
Equity and every good path.

10 When wisdom enters your heart,
And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
11 Discretion will preserve you;
Understanding will keep you,
12 To deliver you from the way of evil,
From the man who speaks perverse things,
13 From those who leave the paths of uprightness
