Know your worth

Worth by definition is as follows:

1. Usefulness or importance

2. The value of something measured by its qualities or by esteem in which it is held

3. A moral or personal value

4. To the fullest extent of one’s value or ability

5. Having monetary or material value

So after reading the definition it is safe to say that a person of value or worth is measured by a few things: money, morality or character and integrity, importance, and by your esteem.

In society there are so many classes that people are classified in and if you are not careful you can become very confused about yourself and your life.

Financial status has become very influential around the world. Many people can pay for what they want, pay for their reputation, pay for their respect, pay to look good. With social media being so popular it’s very hard to tell who’s real and who’s fake.

In my opinion true worth is not measured by how much money you have but it’s measured by those things that don’t require money to obtain.

Hard work, integrity, humility, selflessness, character, honesty, faithfulness, are a few on my list.

As a person your reputation precedes you. When someone mentions your name what is your track record? Will people speak well of you? Your reputation goes a long way and can take you places money can’t keep you. Money can come and go but if you have earned people’s trust and you have a good track record people will act favorably towards you no matter how much money you have. Drive and ambition is key.

It starts first with you knowing who you are. Your worth! Have respect for yourself and others. Tell the truth. Do exactly what you say you are gonna do.

As a woman I can honestly say I have earned respect from many people on all levels of society, women and men alike. I carry myself in a respectful way. This respect was not earned in a sleezy way as with most stereotypes. I work hard, I respect others and demand the same respect. I help those in need. I give freely expecting nothing in return. If someone confides in me I do not share their business I keep it to myself. I dress appropriately for my age and my body type. I wear what I like and I don’t try to do or be like anyone else but Sicily. I am not a follower.I consider myself a risk taker. I use the term risk because it’s by faith. I pursue it until I can see it come to pass.

I am saddened by some of the things I have been seeing lately. Women and men acting immature and careless. Not having respect for themselves or others. Seeking the wrong attention. Mistaking lust for love.Abusing their bodies and not seeing or realize they deserve better for themselves.

You will only seek after or reach for what you deem yourself worthy of having. For example, you apply for a job as a cashier when you are qualified to be the manager. You have all the skills, education nd all the experience but you don’t think you deserve the better job. You settle for mediocrity. You live life below your “worth” level.

There should always be upward mobility in your life. You should always live to get to the next level. You should always be learning. Always thinking. Always believing. Have faith.

The beginning to knowing who you are and knowing your worth is simple. Take the time to evaluate yourself and your life. Set goals. Personal, spiritual  financial…etc. Write out a plan of action. “What do I need to do to get here or obtain this or that”. Go back to school. Learn a different skill. Do what it takes to thrive and survive and make a change.

90 percent of the problem is the way you think or the way you view yourself and others around you. Time to renew your mind. Read books in the areas that you are lacking growth in. Wisdom and knowledge is key. Change the things you can change accept the things you cannot. God can work miracles and he is in the business of taking something old and making it new again. Read your word. The Bible is the key to knowing who you are and who God created you to be. Self evaluation on a daily basis is important. A constant prayer life is vital. Take things day by day. Small victories turn into triumphant successes.

You can do it! I am living proof!

Before you know it you will go from saying:

“I think I can” to

“I know I can” to

“Here I am” What a wonderful place to be!

I pray this helps!

Be blessed!

Sicily has spoken!
